August 30, 201114 yr I went to the Asia Books discount Book Lounge on 4th floor of the Amarin Centre (off Chitlom BTS) the other day, hoping to pick up a cheap (if slightly out of date) Lonely Planet guide to Myanmar. They used to be pretty good for that sort of thing, and you could get the odd decent novel at half price too. When I got there the entire place was empty of both shelves and books! Does anyone know if it's gone for good, or has opened up somewhere else? Cheers!
August 30, 201114 yr They told me they were moving to Chamchuri Square, but I don't know if they are open there or not...
August 30, 201114 yr I do hope they re-open; used to have some great B100/kilo book sales. As a bookstore it was chaotic. Nothing was arranged alphabetically so finding a particular title or author was just by chance.
August 31, 201114 yr Author PM me if u want that LP guide for cheap. I just came back from Myanmar. OK! Check PM!
August 31, 201114 yr They told me they were moving to Chamchuri Square, but I don't know if they are open there or not... Where is Chamchuri Square?
September 1, 201114 yr Where is Chamchuri Square? On the northeaast corner of Phraramsee (Rama IV) Road, and Phayathai Road. There has been an Asia Books in there on the 2nd floor since the shopping centre opened a couple of yrs. ago, though not specifically identified as a "discount" location.
