Changing Address

Featured Replies

I will be changing my address in Pattaya shortly. I recently entered Thailand using a re-entry permit and do not need to file address notification for another 60 days. Do I have to notify Immigration of my new address or can I just do it when the 90 day notification is needed?

Theoretically, you have to notify your immigration office of your change of address within 24 hours, according to section 37 of the Immigration Act. Form TM.28 is used for this purpose and no fee is charged. However, most immigration offices do not mind if you wait until your next report of staying longer than 90 days with form TM. 47.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I tried to report a change of address a couple of years back and immigration sent me packing. They expressed no interest, and on my next 90 day report I just entered the new address.
