How Much Does A Work Permit Costs The Thai Company?

Featured Replies

I am from the USA. If a Thai company that meets all the capital and other Thai employee requirements applies for a work permit for me, how much does it cost that company?

Does the cost vary by industry and job type?

That's a very good question.

Work Permits cost 3,000Bhat for one year and 6,000 Bhat for a 2 year W.P.

Plus a 100 baht extra for the application itself. You will also need a health check, including bloodwork, which will cost around 500 baht.

Thanks to both of you, nice simple answers.

When I opened my company here (textiles) with my Thai partner and we met all of the criteria, my medical check was 30 baht (blood work not needed), Application fee was 100 baht and the actual WP was 750 baht. This was in Chonburi. Total cost = 880 baht for 1 year. Of course this does not include the trips back and forth to Immigration with the visa paperwork and back to the Labor office etc but the OP was asking about what the company pays so I'm not including the cost for visa etc.

The company may also pay some lawyer's fees if they want to avoid the hassle of preparing the paperwork.

"Application fee was 100 baht and the actual WP was 750 baht."

Nowadays 750 will only get you 3 months.
