I dont post many podcasts on here but thought some BMs might have been fans of Brummie music, Steve Miller, UB40, Slade, Duran Duran etc. if so you might enjoy a listen to this. Bob Lamb's interview on Pattaya 105 FM was full of anecdotes, many of which have never been heard before.

Amazing just who does come over to Pattaya at different ties, Bob is a lovely bloke..

Hope u enjoy..

Not a lot of people know this.

A UB40 was the name of the signing in green book needed for when people signed on the dole back in the UK.

All the members of the band were signing on at the same unemployment office, that`s how they met and decided to form a band, naming themselve`s after the green UB40 signing in book.

Hence the true meaning of that lyric in the song "Going Down To Liverpool."

Where you going with that UB40 in your hand?

It's not an album.

That's a great link - it opened with Jasper Carrot's "Funky Moped" - superb! :clap2:

Small typo there though - I think you meant Steve Gibbons rather than Steve Miller who hailed from Californa!

No matter - thanks for posting - we "old rock 'n' rollers" have to stick together :guitar:

Dude -- I think you may have that wrong. The orgasmatrons are from that Woody Allen film, "Sleeper".

Or am I missing something?

If you wish to believe Wikipedia Duran Duran - "They would go on to name the band after the villain from Barbarella, Roger Vadim's French science-fiction film. The villain, played by Milo O'Shea, is named "Dr. Durand Durand"."

Mai pen rai. Duran Duran was the name of a guy in the movie, Barbarella. It starred Jane Fonda and was VERY kinky. But I can't remember if you got to see her snatch.
