Unlicensed Debt Collectors detained at Jomtien Furniture Shop

PATTAYA: -- Illegal Money Lenders in Pattaya are a persistent problem for Police and on Tuesday Night a report was made by a furniture shop owner in Jomtien who had received threats following non-payment of an outstanding loan taken out by a former employee and guaranteed by a current employee who does not have the money to pay. The owner of the business, Khun Natlawee aged 38 was then approached by the Money Lender who decided she was now liable for the debt. A verbal argument which included threats against her well-being were made, in front of the shop, which prompted her to call the Police who are in receipt of mobile phone text messages from the lender known only as Mr. Top
