Two activists of 'the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) protest in front of the Australia Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday, Nov. 3. 2005. PETA said in a statement that it was protesting cruel methods used in Australia's wool industry as part of similar protests they took part in the past concerning the use of fur in fashion, inhumane animal raising practices, and other alleged examples of cruelty to animals. The banner with slogans in Thai is translation of the english version above.

What is the difference involved in Australians shearing sheep or those girls in the photo shaving their pussy?

The sheep would suffer if they weren't shorn before the summer months. The boyfriends of those girls would suffer from a beard rash if the girls leave too much stubble on their whatsits.

I think they are BAHHHHH king up the wrong tree. :o

I once tortured a sheep by shouting 'Mint Sauce' at it.

Does that mean those activists will come to my house naked and give me a good tongue lashing? :o

Like You'll Never Catch Thais Being Cruel to Animals!!

One of the most common complaints foreigners make about Thailand is the absolute dispicable condition of Thai street dogs (and the failure of Thais to address the problem).

Then there's:

Drugged animals in zoos

Declawed Bears

Orangutans touted around the bars

Elephants in Cities

Rare species of wild life served up in restaurants

The list goes on.

Me thinks this protest is a bunch of rich kids having returned from overseas now mimicking worthy causes from the west but totally blind to the failings of their own society.

They'll carry their own extra large jar of it to your place and have a slopping good time with you in it.

Just to be clear, the girl on the left is American and the girl on the right is South Korean.

It's called "crutching" and no-one denys it's cruel - the alternative - "fly blown".

If you were to crutch either of those two you could be sure their protest would be heard even above the traffic of South Sathorn Road - they would need to be admitted to the Embassy to cool the effected area in the moat. There would be no affection shown to the "decrutching" team thats for sure.

Castration can be aligned to the pain of a splinter where - decrutching would be similar except the splinter would be the size of a small telegraph pole (pain to match)-got the crutch (sic) of the matter.

Crutching is the removal of wool from around the tail and udder of the sheep to prevent flystrike, to make it easier for newborn lambs to feed and to prevent dags forming.

If farmers didn't crutch their sheep, they would lose up to 3 million sheep annually due to flystrike.

Sheep also need to endure branding, drenching, being nipped by cattle dogs during droving and being raped most nights by oversexed rams. Not an easy life.

It's actually called "Milsing" spelling may not be exact, and yes it is for the prevention of fly strike, the sheep die an agonising death if affected.

A balanced representation would show a sheep in it's last stages if it hadn't been done.

I'd love to see these mamby pamby do-gooder bastards if they saw a "fly blown' sheep that had just been sheared. :o

Exactly although when they showed the "young ladies" in question on TV (Television) they also showed an example of a sheep being operated upon.

No example of what the results if the operation was not carried out. Sensationalism used to support one side of the story only.

Meanwhile... concerning our naked girls:

Bangkok Post:

Thai police refrained from arresting the protesters because they kept their banners on and were wearing underclothes.

"Full nudity in public is against the law in Thailand, but it's OK if they are wearing something over their nipples and have underpants on,'' one Thai policeman explained at the scene.
