Just a quick heads up. I did a border hop at Chong Chom yesterday and was amazed at the long queues compared to the usual short wait.

Was told it was a consequence of the crackdown on illegal casinos in BKK and this was pushing Thai gamblers over the border into Cambodia.

Hopefully not quite so bad during the week but unfortunately for me only had the weekend option this time.

Was witness to a similar very large queue at Chong Chom which I visit at least every 90 days. Was quite unusual. Having to hang around awhile to give the wife time for a quick crossover I found the queue quickly dissipated and was likely the result of a few busloads arriving at the same time. Did not impress me as a very upscale group of people so am curious about the gambling connection.

Weekends are not the best time to go there but usually still pretty quick as thais just flash there ID card and walk through... Never took me longer than 2 minutes to get through .. you must have been unlucky

get there before 11-30 am or after 1 pm and you should be ok
