How To Find The Phone Number Of An Amphur?

Featured Replies

Hi,

37-year-old American here. Man I've typed that alot on here it seems. Do I ever age? Anyway, my girlfriend's birth certificate was allegedly lost in a fire 10 years ago. Now we need a copy for her visa application. We live in Krabi, and the local amphur she and I have used for everything thus far doesn't have her birth certificate, because as she just found out she was actually born in Koh Libong, in the Trang Province. It never ceases to amaze me how little Thai (esp. rural) people know about where and when they were born!

Anyway I said why don't you call the amphur before taking a 2-hour bus ride to Trang? She said she doesn't have the number. For the love of Buddha, is there no such thing as a telephone directory or white pages in Thailand? I'm sure there is, but my girlfriend is from a small village, and totally out of touch with such things. I don't have an excuse for not knowing myself, other than I've never had to look up a number before :)

Any help at all on how to look up the phone number for the amphur that services Koh Libong in the Trang Province would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

Gotta remember, Mr Google is your friend:

Tambun 13. Ko Libong

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So, hop over to your local amphur there in Krabi and ask them for a phone # for Amphur Kantang in Trang.

Alternatively, just phone one of these guest houses there on Ko Libong and ask them:

Awesome Mac, thanks. The thought crossed my mind but I imagined any results would be in Thai script or outdated. Shame on me, you rock!
