September 14, 201114 yr Just want to know if I have about 50 cassettes I want to convert to say .wav file where can I go and what should I pay? Some people say go to Pantip but the name of a reputable establishment there or elsewhere would be much appreciated. Thanks!
September 14, 201114 yr DIY is the way to go. This is a very simple thing to do, especially if you have a tape player with line-out sockets. I would use Audacity as the recording software as it is free and has some quite effective de-hissing filters. Your end product should probably be 320k mp3 for best compatibility with modern playback devices, though if you are after the best audio quality (from cassette tapes? ) you might prefer flac or aac.
