I picked up an AIS One2Call Tesco branded SIM on arrival a week ago. In the past 3 days I have received 19 calls all asking for "Julie". They are not calling my number but I have yet to find out which number they are calling. Most don't believe me and continue to call.

I have reported it to CS on 1175 and sent 1175 a text message. Also asked the callers to report it.

The easiest solution is to bin the SIM and buy another one but I have loaded it with a 150 baht data package and 50 baht credit and I am notoriously tight.

Has this ever happened before? Any ideas?

As an aside if I knew how to put 2 numbers on one SIM I would be a rich man.

Somebody could be having some fun with you?

Is it the same number calling you all the time? Or multiple numbers? Any repeats? Obviously it would be ideal to find out what number they are calling, just to see if it is a crossed number (not unheard of, the system does have to be configured to link a number to a SIM, so it can be mis-configured).

I suspect they may be re-cycling numbers somewhat more quickly than in the past, for obvious reasons, and maybe Julie had your number before?

You could AIS/One-2-call to issue you a new number, and transfer any remaining balance at no charge.

You could also set up your voicemail with a greeting, "Hi, this is Julie, my new number is 08n nnn nnnn", just kidding. Just make a greeting saying your name, which I assume isn't Julie, or Jules, and repeat the number. Then just divert unrecognized calls/numbers to vmail.

FWIW this is a service which is available: http://www.ais.co.th/gsm2010/en/gsm_service_1sim-2numbers.aspx

And yes, there is a service that offers up to five (5) different numbers on one (1) SIM!

I have had 8 different numbers call me, all Thai except one Vietnamese number today.

A couple of them have asked me to call them back to prove it is a different number and they confirm that it is. Then they call me back again!

"Julie?"

Surely if AIS allocate a new number to the SIM it may not solve the problem.

If I buy another SIM could I get the credit transferred?

Five numbers on one SIM..... hmm.....with one of those triple SIM phones I could have 14 mistresses.

OK, so the people calling you are dialing a number which is different from your number? Is that correct?

You should try to determine which number they are dialing; this would help with AIS/One-2-Call. It would also help if you could determine that more than one calling party are dialing the same, but not yours, number.

This appears to be an AIS/One-2-call issue; they should be able to figure out what went wrong (your line was likely mis-provisioned). And they should correct the problem to your satisfaction.

AIS/One-2-Call should be able to look at your in-bound call records to determine the exact cause of the problem.
