บีบี

Featured Replies

From a short story:

เย็นนี้ฉันจะคุยบีบีเล่นเฟซบุ๊กให้หนำใจไปเลย

Here is another:

นจะทำอะไรก่อนดีนะ เล่นเฟซบุ๊ก ออนบีบีแต่มันก็ทำได้พร้อมกันอยู่แล้วนี่

Does บีบี most likely mean "Bulletin Board" or "Blackberry" or something else? "ออน" in this context means "on-line", I suspect. Is this correct?

Thank you.

David,

the fact you are posting in Thai means to me you can read and understand normal written Thai.

I suspect like me however you have a problem understanding, teenage slang, abbreviations used on texting, abbreviations used on the bottom of the screen when watching the news, etc etc.

'คุยบีบีเล่นเฟซบุ๊ก' Whilst I have no problem reading and understanding this, I have the same problem as you.

I am of an age where I dont have a FB account or a BB, so as to what, บีบี, means in this context I have no idea, I can only use logic and assume it means a Blackberry.

เล่นเฟซบุ๊ก ออนบีบี. would imply to me using a BB online to read her FB page (I dont even know if page is the correct term).

Sorry I cant really help or answer your question.

Is the use of, บีบี, instead of มือถือ a fashion statement or a face thing? I honeslty dont know.

ออน" in this context means "on-line", I concur.

BB means Blackberry, there's a messaging network called BBM (blackberry messaging) which can be linked to a users facebook page and used to update status messages and chat :)

So "คุยบีบีเล่นเฟซบุ๊ก" (kui BB len facebook) would mean that the person is chatting on facebook using the BBM service :)

Thank you, Biff; that is very helpful.

Can I render these sentences:

"เย็นนี้ฉันจะคุยบีบีเล่นเฟซบุ๊กให้หนำใจไปเลย" as

"This evening I will chat on my Blackberry and Facebookuntil I am blue in the face." ?

"ฉันจะทำอะไรก่อนดีนะเล่นเฟซบุ๊ก ออนบีบี แต่มันก็ทำได้พร้อมกันอยู่แล้วนี่"

What should I do first? [should I] do Facebook or get on-line with my Blackberryaccount? But, [what am I thinking?] I can do both at the same time!

Pretty much yeah.

Although it might be more naturally said in English as; "what should I do first? Facebook or BBM?...what am I thinking? I can do both at the same time!"

BB = dedicated chat network using Blackberry devices, it can now be used with other devices, such as iPhone by installing the "WhatsApp" - Application.

Talk on BB - Play on FB. :)
