Planning Crossing Freedombrigde To Vientiane

Featured Replies

I am planning crossing with my 1st Class Insured Toyota Vigo and hoping to bye Insurance for Laos as crossing the border.

Any problem, beside they drive on the right side of the roads...

Good advices, so I do not do the same bad experice...

Cool venture! respect..

The car needs a passport-you used to be able to get them in NongKhai-about a thousand Baht.

When you get to the Laos side, just after immigration, on the right hand side there is an AGL insurance office.

As for other problems whilst driving in Laos- the list is endless- good luck! :whistling:

One of my frind try do that with rental car. He give up idea when he find out hi would need lots of paper work, so its maybe much easier rent car from Laos when steering wheel as well is not wrong side..

I've done it many times +10 and never had any problems. The roads are almost as good as Thailand and rarely a money stop. The farther you get into the country the better !
