Supernova
Cannot scan for malware, etc as cannot read screen.. Try one of these solutions: Dr.Web LiveCD - Clean your computer of infected and suspicious files, help you copy important information to a removable data storage device or another computer, and then attempt to cure infected objects. Avira AntiVir Rescue System - The Rescue CD is a linux-based application that allows accessing computers to repair a damaged system, to rescue data or to scan the system for malware infections. Ran Dr Web Live CD... did not see any apparent solution but on boot up, all was back to normal. So I have no obvious answer for the fix but it happened. Thanks all. Was that a power off and restart or hibernation restart? Sounds like video memory or screen page memory got clobbered some how. If you don't have AV or security protection, consider them quickly.
