Hi,

I applied for a 3 entry tourist VISA a few months back and did my last VISA run before it's expiry a few weeks back.. I can update for 30 more days before it expires then I have to look at my options so I'm told...

One option is an education VISA... I do actually want to learn Thai and eventually teach so this would be ideal.

What I also want to do is travel throughout Thailand whilst doing it...

Can someone give me advice?

If I can get another tourist VISA that would be advantageousness for me.

What I don't want to do is leave Thailand for that long.. for financial reasons and because I have friends here etc...

If anyone could give me any advice it would really be appreciated

An ED Visa for learning Thai would generally require you to attend a minimum of 4 hours per week, so travelling throughout Thailand whilst doing that is not going to be really very practical unless you return each week for four hours.

Seems like another Tourist Visa is probably your best option based on the information you have given,

If you want to live here learn Thai go to an language school, make the comittment if you want to play here do your homework. Living and visiting here are 2 different tthings. Get your priorities straight. Learn the language, find a job and then find a good woman, in that order.

I'm in a similar situation - had an "O" visa originally from UK though (didn't have to show any paperwork just pay the cash at Hull!), it expired in August just gone and I received a single entry (though applied for double) from Vientiane in Laos. Now I just extended by 30 days at HH immigration, but I've decided to go for an education visa from next month. I'll make the trip again to Vientiane. Current round trip flights are 4,000 baht on offer with Thai airways. For me, I'm happy to stay in Hua Hin and just do some short weekend trips around the 4 hours of learning every week. Luckily for me I can already speak and read Thai so the lessons should be good fun and not too taxing! There's a few language schools in Hua Hin. However, if wanted a bit of travel, I'm sure they are flexible and let you catch up on the lessons at convenient times....I know a few people who have even missed many lessons, though they are getting a bit of stick now from the school and immigration, so it's not recommended to miss them.

Cheers.
