Can anybody please recommend a place in the Pattaya area where my wife can take the UKBA required English language test for a UK Settlement Visa?

Also any further info re costs etc., would be much appreciated.

I don't think there are any in Pattaya. There are now only three providers within Thailand on the approved list and I think they are all in Bangkok. One is BULATS through Vantage Siam which my wife took back in May. It was 5600thb then but believe they've put it up to 7000thb now. Can't really comment on the other two. I know one is Pearsons but others may be able to advise on those.

Can confirm that the fee at Vantage Siam is now 7000 Baht. Also note that the certificates take 2 to 3 three weeks after the test to arrive.

Thanks for that info. If you have any more, e.g contact details / address of the test centre, test examples, etc. , it would also be gratefully received. My wife speaks English quite well. Is there a course before the test, or do they just turn-up and do the test?

For the BULATS I was dealing with Kevin the director at Vantage Siam [email protected] he sent me example questions and a PDF in thai for the wife too. He was very helpful.

They do a pre-test course at extra cost. My wife's English is fine for everyday conversation but not the best. She had no problem achieving an A1 & B1 certificate without any prep but I guess thats for you & your wife too decide whats best. You should also be aware that the BULATS is a business language test and so the type of questions involved reflect that
