How Do You Say "Predictable" ?

Featured Replies

I don't want to be too predictable - (ผม/ฉัน)ไม่อยากมีบุคลิกที่คนอื่นอ่านออก

Thank you. Shouldn't it have "ได้" at the end though?

You are correct, but you also can do without and it still means the same.:jap:

ออก has a similar meaning to ได้.

คิดไม่ออก - can't think

อ่านไม่ออก - can't read

I beg to differ - your sentence in Thai above has the sense in English, to me at least, of "I don't want to be too obvious"

I would substitute "ฉันไม่ต้องการที่จะคาดเดาได้เกินไป".

common form: baak dai (can tell)

formal: payago:n dai

If i had to think about this i'd probably say something like:

คิดว่าไม่เอาทำให้แบบ<your name>กล้วย ๆ ทุกคนอ่าน...เข้าใจไหม..

maybe add a "na khrap" on the end.

If the person didnt understand, they will usually tell you honestly (from my experience anyway) and you can try to break up the words a little and do it in a different way.

Albeit, i am far from an expert..probably a very simple approach, but i think if you try to say any words slowly and clearly sometimes people will get the point as they usually try a bit harder to understand you, being a farang and all!!!.

Then again, maybe you shouldnt listen to me, or you very well might get an "arai waa" for your efforts

Would be interested to know what you guys think, or better still..a Thai persons opinion.;)

"I don't want to be too predictable"

ไม่อยากเป็นคนคาดเดาได้ง่ายง่ายนะ

Not a native speaker, but that's how I would say it.
