Any Recent Experience In Getting Tourist Visas In Vietnam?

Featured Replies

Italian national looking for a double or single entry Thai tourist visa while traveling in Vietnam before coming to Thailand. No recent tourist visas in passport.

thanks, RS

Should not be a problem but believe a ticket out of Vietnam to Thailand is required at time of issue.

Thanks. Would this only be available in Hanoi, or also HCMC? Also, are only singles likely to be available?

Both places are options but believe single entry would be normal unless you have proof of need due to travel/return with tickets perhaps.

I am an Italian national and I applied a couple of weeks ago for a Thai tourist visa in Hanoi (single entry). The cost was USD 40. The requirement was to have a ticket out of Thailand. However, I explained that I only had a ticket to Thailand and did not yet decide which means I was going to use to exit Thailand (air, road...). After some friendly discussion, the staff accepted my application anyway. However, be advised that you may need to present a ticket out of Thailand. It worked in this case, maybe because of the recent threat to tourism caused by the floods.... I applied before noon and could pick my passport with visa the following day at 1600 hrs. biggrin.gifjap.gif
