Tourist Visa Run To Lao Or Cambodia Which Is Best?

Featured Replies

Curious if anyone has feedback to tourist visa runs for lao or cambodia...

I did my first one in Vientiene...i'm more familiar there as i have traveled there several times before. I have never been to cambodia but only to a border check point for some shopping. A man there told me i could cross the border and get a 90 stamp to allow me 90 days in thailand??? not sure if that is a trick or scam or if it is true. A fellow traveler has told me i need to go all the way into pnom phen for the tourist visa so i don't know who to believe. None the less, i have a tourist visa which is not a stamp from the thai consulate at the time and i plan to extend it for 30 days and then i got to go somewhere...even malaysia, hong kong or burma???

I apreciate any feedback which can be the least hassle and cost effective and also quick to get me back here as i prefer to be traveling in thailand for now.

This seems to be a question about Thai visas, so moved to that forum.

Believe this was in reference to staying in hotel on Cambodia side and having a visa service take your passport for visa issue. This is not available anymore AFAIK and even visa issue is a real problem. Suggest you check back a bit before you need to obtain for latest information of read other posts (and pinned update) here.
