Residence Certificate

Featured Replies

I bought a motorbike from a small local Thai dealership and he asked if I wanted to transfer the title to my name. I said yes, but then he asked for my Residence Certificate (or something similar to that name). He showed me a copy of one and it seemed simple enough.

My question is what is involved in obtaining one of these? I have a one year ED Visa in good standing and a one-year rental leased here in CM.

Thanks!

Take both to the immigration office by the airport. Talk to copy lady in the coffee shop, and she will copy whatevers needed.

Walk into office, go to the interns, get a residence cert. Application form. Fill it in, and hand to the interns. Wait a while. They will give the cert to you and you pay 500 baht 'fee'

Oh, also take passport, which no doubt you have your visa in..

Sorry for the very bad image; taken in a dark room with no flash.

Just got a certificate 2 weeks ago on 23rd Sept at CM Imm. for a new vehicle purchase.

And don't ask for a receipt, because you won't get one.
