October 9, 201114 yr I heard that they sometimes give out free sim cards at the airport? If so, where? thx
October 9, 201114 yr Every time i arrive with an Air France flight there is about 4 of them giving out free sim cards with about Bht 30 talk time on to all who wants them at the end of the ramp as you entre the terminal
October 10, 201114 yr Don't know about free SIM cards but the other day while waiting for my bags I tried to call the TG only to find that I only had 17 THB on my DTAC SIM. But DTAC kindly offered to "lend" me 30 THB "emergency time" which they deducted next time I topped up Later learned that you must have had your DTAC number for at least a year prior and have at least 6 months validity remaining on your number to obtain this service Don't know if TRUE or AIS offer this also
October 10, 201114 yr Yes they give free True Move Sim cards with 7 baht value at most airports like CNX, HKT, CEI etc...but I been to bangkok swampy for a couple of times, most recently just 3 weeks back but I did not find promoters giving them there..maybe i missed them..
October 16, 201114 yr True gives them out on an irregular basis at arrivals but I seem to recall that it's a special international SIM that has local call rates higher than normal SIMS. DTAC, AIS and TRUE all have kiosks at the arrivals level and sell B100 SIMS

October 16, 201114 yr Received one 2 weeks ago, did not bother to read and look at it. For people live here they have there own Thai simcard for Tourists very friendly and useful.
October 18, 201114 yr I wait for clearance thru Customs,go up one floor & get a new Sim card from AIS or DTAC,better long term rates, cheaper calls per minute
October 20, 201114 yr I wait for clearance thru Customs,go up one floor & get a new Sim card from AIS or DTAC,better long term rates, cheaper calls per minute DTAC and AIS have kiosks on the same floor as Customs. Turn right as you exit the area (heading toward the Meeting Point) and the kiosks are on the left-hand side.
