Ok, here's the deal.

I'm from Sweden, but live in Norway. My girlfriend just got Schengen visa for the 4th time. This time through the Norwegian embassy (previously through the Swedish).

The thing is we want to escape the cold for a few weeks in December/January. The options in the European Schengen territory aren't too exciting. We can go to Spain or Portugal, but even at the southern tip it will at best be 15 degrees. From what I've understood we can go to the Canary islands as well as Azores or Madeira if we would like that. Which may be a good idea, but still most people I've read about being there in that time complains on weather.

So, I was thinking about our possibilities to visit the French Caribbean islands. From what I can see a Schengen Visa isn't enough, and one has to apply for a Schengen+Martinique for example. Which she of course didn't do since it would probably bring some problems and seem kind of weird...

We tried to apply for multiple entry Schengen Visa, but in the end got only Single entry.

So, is there anyway to apply for the "+martinique" part now?

And if that's possible, would she be able to fly there without loosing her single entry? Or is it "French enough" to not get a departure stamp in the passport?

Right now it seems quite complicated, but I'm mostly curious if this is even possible. Any ideas?

The French overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion, and the overseas collectivities of Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin are part of the European Union but do not form part of the Schengen Area. The EU's freedom of movement provisions apply, but each territory operates their own visa regime for non-European Economic Area (EEA), non-Swiss nationals. While a visa valid for one of these territories will be valid for all, visa exemption lists differ.[26] A Schengen visa, even one issued by France, is not valid for these territories.( Source)

So she will need to apply for a separate visa. Most countries/territories require applicants to apply in their country of residence, so I doubt she could do so as a visitor in Norway.

Anyway, as can be seen, she would be leaving the Schengen area and as her Schengen visa is only single entry she would not be allowed back in.
