I had no response asking where to find a second hand LPG gas tank ..So option 2 is does anyone know where I can find/buy a oil drum (preferably stainless steel) to convert into a BBQ/SMOKER

How about an old fridge? I heard they are good.

No ideas about the oil drum (and I'd be afraid of residue), but I once had a sum tom cart maker fashion me a barbecue for less than a thousand baht. I'm sure it would be more for stainless steel, but maybe you could find some of the paint they use for smokers somewhere.

Many street carts have got them. Ask the owners where they got them.
