Bangkok, Go Or Not... Visitor

Featured Replies

Dear All,

Will come to Bangkok on 28th October.... Abot the flood situation now, should keep the plan or not!

Help please, and give me advises... many thanks!

:(

In my mind you still should wait and watch TV News about it. Right now (Friday 14. of October) it don´t look good for Bangkok but who know about 28. of October...nobody.

Regards

Thomas

Wait and see is the best advice.

Earlier today I spoke with a couple of friends who were stuck in traffic for hours yesterday due to flooding there.

Hopefully the situation will be improved alot by the end of the month.

Go, go.

Go, go.

I was asked the Q lots of years back when I was working in Khartoum, "What's the best time of year to visit Thailand?" My reply was, "Well, how about anytime between April and March, some times are just better, or not, than others, but sure better than HERE!"

If I ever had occasion to talk to someone in Khartoum, I would have said exactly the same thing.

I live in central Bangkok and there is no flooding. Also, the water level in the river has dropped. So everything will be ok at the end of the month.

The Thai government apparently does. Their own website classes the 28th October as a crucial peak point of the river.
