Course Advisor/Virtual Assistant Job. Ideal For Expats.

Hi,

We are a e-Learning organisation based in Langkawi, Malaysia which specialise in delivering the nationally recognised training in Australia.

We are looking for a friendly and welcoming virtual assistant to assist us in answering calls from learners interested in enrolling in our e-Learning Courses. This home-based position is well suited for a retired expat or somebody who is already working from home (in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, or other country within the same time-zone region).

We offer 6 different courses and callers will expect you to be knowledgeable about each course so you can assist them in working out which option is best for them.

Our callers are mostly from Australia, however we do have the occasional international enquiry.

The project will also involve making some follow up calls to callers you have previously spoken with. Just to clarify, this is not a sales position, while there is a sales element to it (due to the fact we would like the prospective learners who call to actually enrol), the role is more of a ‘Course Advisor’ providing high-quality, accurate, information on course pricing, enrolment periods, how to enrol etc. to prospective learners. We don’t agree with the use of high pressure sales tactics, or encouraging people to enrol in the course if it is not right for them.

>Equipment Requirements

For this role you will need to have access to:

• A landline phone number for taking inbound calls (it does not have to be a dedicated number – as when you receive a work call from our phone system you will hear a prompt saying “Press 1 to accept, press 2 to reject” so you will know it is a work call)

• Reliable internet connection

• A web-browser so you can log into our remote agent portal where you can transfer calls, put them on hold etc.

• A quite space in your home/apartment where you can take calls from.

>Availability

We man the phones from 6am though to 6pm in Western Australia (which covers both Eastern and Western Australian office hours). The shifts we are recruiting for are:

- 05:30-13:30 in Western Australia, Malaysia, Philippines/03:30-12:30 in Thailand, Indonesia

- 09:30-5:30 in Western Australia, Malaysia, Philippines /08:30-4:30 in Thailand, Indonesia

>Time worked

There are on average 7 inbound calls a day that run for 4 minutes. Some days there may be 1 call, others there’s 20+. Together with some follow up calls, on average there will be 2 hours work involved each day. You will still need to be available to answer calls for the entire shift but you have the freedom to do as you please between calls. As a result there will be a fixed payment each day for being availably to take calls – so even if it is a quiet day – you will still get paid for being available.

This position is ideally suited for somebody who enjoys getting up early, is perhaps retired or already works from home. You’ll also need to be enthusiastic and happy to help our prospective learners work out which course is right for them.

As most of the callers are from Australia, the Course Advisor position needs to be filled by somebody who has English as their first language or a clear and understandable English accent.

If you are interested in this position, please send me a message with your phone number and we can arrange a time to have a chat.
