webfact
Phuket road works causing commuter woes The Phuket Highways District says the resurfacing, the first in 13 years, is needed to improve tire traction on the road. PHUKET: -- Phuket motorists heading northbound on Thepkrasattri Road in Koh Kaew are advised to plan for delays or use shortcuts, as resurfacing work continues along the busy stretch of road. During yesterday's evening rush hour the work caused a tailback several kilometers long on Thepkrasattri Road, extending all the way south into Sapam near Sapam Shrine. The work also affected southbound traffic, causing a tailback from the Bangkhu junction (north end of the bypass road) past the Boat Lagoon Marina and Muslim Witthaya School. The work is part of a three-month, 42-million-baht contract to improve the road from near the Seventh Day Adventist Church at the Phuket Town border to Srisoonthorn Temple, 12 kilometers to the north. Phuket Highways District Deputy General Manager Sathaporn Sornchana said the work should be completed by the end of October and last about 10 years. bunta71
The rest of the world knows about something called "light plants" which allow paving at NIGHT after rush hour until dawn. Not complicated at all, as they start with the push of a button. Anyone can learn to push a button. :jap:
stevenl
Nothing too bad this morning. Left from Sai Yuan at 08.15, was parked at the airport at 09.07, by car, nice and relaxed. Looked like construction would start a bit later. On return trip construction had started, one lane blocked heading North, but looked like maybe 5 minutes stop and go traffic.
