We acquired some LPN condo units earlier this year, and upon inspection.... it really felt like folks were living in a giant beehive (complete with a supermarket, pool, fitness center, etc. so you conceivably wouldn't have to leave the premises) or a precursor to the 'stacks' described in David Wingrove's Chung Kuo series. And like the OP, you could definitely hear the neighbors ...they rarely 'show' these condos when everyone is getting home or waking up to go to work.
