Doesn't look there's any takers on this one..

If no-one gets back with a vendor for the spray you're looking for, my suggestion would be to inquire with a shop that does HID Xenon upgrades - most of them also do things like headlamp blackouts, CCFL rings, and tinted tail lamps....

Cheers I can get from the UK and have been looking here but no one seems to know or understand what I am on about, normally here they use film but the Nissan March has the front side indicators which can not be removed easily so film is not an option, any way will keep looking...

What about keeping the original just for your own safety? There is at least one minibus running about with red headlights, which is almost as stupid as tinting indicators, stop lights or whatever. I really wish these vehicles to be taken off the road and their owner fined to a level which really hurts. :annoyed:

Thanks for your input, yes tinting headlights to a point where the light is greatly reduced is dangerous, tinting rear lights and indicators is not a problem and does not greatly reduce the light produced(mine are light smoke, at the end of the day if the brake light can be clearly seen then having the lens tinted is not a problem!! why don't you spend your time having a go at the people that speed in and out of traffic driving like idiots inches from your back bumper, in all my yrs driving I have never had a problem with tinted lights!! I am wondering mate have you a car with tinted windows where the window screen has also been tinted?

As long as the brake lights and indicator lights can be clearly seen then tinting will cause no problems, driving through red lights, driving far to fast does cause a problem!!!

A list of things more dangerous than tinted lights...

ignoring red lights.

driving the wrong way and against the flow of traffic.

driving inches from the car in front.

driving like a maniac in and out of traffic just to get 50yds further up the road.

drinking whilst driving.

using a mobile phone whilst driving.

adjusting the radio volume whilst driving.

watching the TV whilst driving.

Cambered wheels.

I could go on!!!

He's talking about tinting the front fender repeaters, hardly the same as red headlamps ;)

If he goes to heavy on the tinting, he can always add these to counteract:

And if that's not enough, some of these:

My rear lights are tinted and are not dark enough to inhibit the visibility by very much, the brake light, indicator and reversing lights can be clearly seen, I have high level and low level LED brake lights so have plenty of visible lighting, I would never tint the head lights...

The March has indicators in the head lights so tinting the the side indicators is not a problem

Can you find out what film they use please, from past experience films did not like sticking to the lights as they are made from plastic but they have obviously over come this with a new type of film.

I can do that for you, I am going back to the shop on Monday, my last car had the rear lights tinted and looked great, no problems with the tinting film sticking...

depends on the plastic lense. if its "E" or "DOT" marked, film will peel off from a small plastic lense. most side and rear on Thai cars are not, headlights often are.

and just to make sure about the law, tinting any light is illegal. cops or DLT dont care, involved in an accident, Insurance will sometimes try to make you at blame

tinting windows is legal in TH, all windows

Thanks for that info, strange that you can tint the window screen as dark as you want and tinting lights is considered dangerous!!! I will go in to my insurance office and check with them!! if they say no good I will remove the tints...

The reason for E and DOT and most markets not allowing tinting of windscreen and front side windows, is to allow eyecontact with driver. As eyecontact often can be ehhh... exciting/dangerous in TH, dark film works great B)

one more reason, identifying driver.. not needed in TH as cars owner is to blame, doesnt matter who drive

as for Insurance, everyone is looking for an excuse for not to be at fault. Hitting your car, I would focus on your not working or invisible indicators and brakelights, and you might get the blame and I save a load of money ;)

My rear brake lights are clearly visible as is the rear indicator, my head lights are better than standard, head lights have integrated indicators, personally I consider window and window screen tints to be far more dangerous than my slightly tinted rear lights!!

Just a question what percentage tints do you have on your car and where?? because this can also be used to avoid blame in an accident!!

If you hit my car and focus on my rear lights I would then be questioning your eye sight as I have 2 sets of LED brake lights and the tinted brake lights all very very visible, I checked the brightness of my rear tinted lights before driving away from the shop, virtually no difference!!

The insurance company will not give a shit how visible a tinted taillight is or where the person was looking, it is illegal to tint lights END OFF and if the insurance want to get out of honouring a claim they will be looking for excuses.

thats how it works, all over the world

be road legal, and get away

tint lights illegally, and be at risk

caught in Europe with DOT (Department of Transportation, USA) marked lights, not E Marked, you are in DLT and Insurance problems

and window tinting of all windows has been legal to any % since 2005 as i recall, there where a few years prior to 2005? not accepting more than 60% tint

Yeah, and Re Chips are the first get out. Be Warned, when its munched you cant cheat like you do on Warranty Claims.i.e Remove the thing. Ive no time for Re Chippers who don't inform the Company.hit-the-fan.gif

I prefere 60% all around on my cars, except windshield, just upper few inches to reduce heating, and rest of windshield no tint. but going darker is fully legal in TH

3M and Lamina are my prefered brands

I have actually seen TH Insurance search for chips in wrecked cars. Cant see why they would be illegal, as engine output is not stated in DLT files, but it could be a modify clause in Insurance

Lost me are you talking about engine chips? I have always informed my insurance company of any modifications which enhance performance, window tints here are legal here, I fail to see how some one who has to have his windows down at night because he can not see could be considered legal and safe, can you not buy legal smoked lights for cars??

have been driving a 2006 tuna with 40% black tint for a couple of months, and no chance I will reverse it in dark and rain without opening sidewindows to see properly in exterior mirrors. Its not the tint grade, its the quality of film. and my desire to see whats behind me. by the way, rearwindow has no film and it has reverse sensors

legally smoked lights are available, they use a tech partly smoking the lense making them look smoked from outside but allowing full light output. DOT and E approved. Huge diffrence to sprayed lenses tho

Well being a sensible and law abiding person I will firstly go to insurance company and ask them about my very slightly tinted film rear lights, if they say no good I will remove, in the mean time I will see if the smoked legal lights you talk about are available for my March!!

I have never claimed to be neither sensible or law abiding, just want to make you aware of possible consequenses of spray tinting, in any country

and I belive I have seen tint spray in Supercheap.B) Unfortuntaley sold out on Hella dual tone horns yesterday, which are E-marked and thus road legal

Is this the legal smoked lamp you are talking about, Projector lamp CCFL for Nissan March? I had my road horn replaced in the shop just up from the big tesco lotus, bypass road on right hand side now very loud!!

unable to blow up the picture to search for E or DOT approval. If it is approved as smoked, it is legal in the markets it is approved for. TH market accepts both DOT and E. Be aware a bunch of Chinese are marked but never approved, thus no approval code
