Visa Information Please

Featured Replies

I have to renew my non o visa shortly. Does anybody know if I can have my visa in my old passport and use my new passport without the visa in it. My current passport is nearly full but not expired.

What's your nationality, age and reason to get an non-O visa.

Or are you talking about extension of stay in Thailand

Simple answer is that you can not hold two visas at same time.

You must have misunderstood my question... I was asking if I can use my existing passport with a current visa in it AND use my new passport for stamping without a visa in it. What do you think? I understand that some countries allow this, but what about Thailand? I have an O visa based on marriage and go out every 90 days, as I have been doing for the last 8 years.

What i did with my non B was to go to immigration with you new and old passport. They don't transfer the visa but mark your new passport (one page stamp) that you have new passport, visa in old one or something to that nature.

Then you just need to carry the old passport with you as long as the visa is valid. You show them both and the stamps go into the new valid one.

Rather than carry BOTH passports why not simply have the Visa transferred to the NEW passport.

A visa can never be transferred into another passport - he must show visa in old passport and get stamped in the new passport until a new visa is received (or he gets an extension of stay in the new passport).

Thank you MJo for a clear and concise answer. I was hoping this was the case.
