I recently qualified for a 60 Day Tourist Visa for Thailand (Oct 28th - Dec 26th)

I'm told that it is extendable by a further 30 days.

What do I have to do in order to get this extension?

Visit the nearest immigration office with 1,900 baht, photo 4x6cm and copies of passport/visa/entry/arrival card about December 20 to obtain the extra 30 days by filling out a TM.7 form.

No, you get the same 30 day extension no matter how long before you go.
