When I send my U.K. passport for renewal to Hong Kong. Do they automatically send the original retirement visa page, back to me in the new passport? As there will be 9 months left on this visa before i need to renew the Retirement annual Visa? Thx ??

You don't send your passport, you send photocopies.

Good reply, please advice how the sending is done ... by post, by fax, or email ... and what are the appropriate addresses for the three communication routes, so that all "Brits" know where to go, and what to do, when renewing their passport via Hong Kong.

Inform yourself by reading the British Embassy website, there is a link to how to apply for a British Passport. No Email as you have to send the original application form.

What Supporting documents do I need?

You should submit the following documentation:

  • Current 10 year British Passport or child 5 year British passport if applying for your first adult passport. This must be the original passport, not a photocopy

Specific requirements from Thailand

ORIGINAL PASSPORT: Thailand is an exception to the main guidance given on our primary website. It is not advised to be without your original passport in Thailand and we recognise this. You may therefore submit a clear photocopy of your passport (just the page with your personal details and photograph). Please note that the passport being renewed will be electronically cancelled and is therefore not valid for use as a travel document from the moment you submit your application. On receipt of your new passport, you must physically cancel your old passport by cutting the corners of the photo page and the front and back covers. Failure to do so may leave your replaced passport open to abuse. Alternatively, you should visit the British Embassy in Bangkok to have your replaced passport physically cancelled.
