Dr Seri on TPBS: Impossible for situation to improve in 2 weeks./via@tulsatit

Dr Seri: 1.9 billion cubic meters of waters are still waiting to enter city, which faces at least 60 more days of crisis./via@tulsatit

Dr Seri: That 1.9 bn cubic meters is just 30% of floodwater outside Bkk. The rest will go into Chao Phya or "hang around" outside city./via@tulsatit

Dr Seri confirms floods won't get higher. But they won't dry fast either./via@tulsatit

Dr Seri: Lad Krabang still at risks, so is Bang Chan. Much will depend on drainage efficiency./via@tulsatit

Dr Seri says there's delicate balance betw Bang Sue canal's drainage capacity &water coming in from many points.Keep those pumps functional/via@terryfrd

As for big bag barrier, the breach to accommodate locals at Don Muang has relieved pressure & overflow no longer likely. Good/via@terryfrd

But locals unhappycoz water keeps rising due to distortions caused by big bag,e.g, water coming in from east, collides w. water from north/via@terryfrd

Collision results in an unwanted spillover into Khlong Prem, not to mention high water levels for ppl living north of big bag barrier./via@terryfrd

Dr Seri agrees w. Chavalit that Victory monument will stay dry if Khlong Bang Sue pumps continue to work flawlessly./via@terryfrd

As for industrial estates, the risks remain very high. Lots of water and there are serious drainage bottlenecks which could upset defences./via@terryfrd

Will BKK be dry in 7-14 days. No way, says Dr Seri. Water coming from north will not enter in convenient bite-size masses. Will be prolonged/via@terryfrd

Overall, situation is definitely getting better in terms of water flow & draining but its not going to be a piece of cake./via@terryfrd

Not much talk of the West tonight. Folks over there have another month of so of varying degrees of wet, Dr Seri says./via@terryfrd
