she is enrolled in the Intensive Math Program.

PHUKET: Two young Phuket models are seeking votes in the Photogenic Model competition, part of the Thai Supermodel Contest 2011.

Uraisri “Yim” Watrsang, 16, and Vanessa “Van” Herrmann, 20, have both made it to the final round of the contest to be broadcast on Channel 7.

Miss Watrsang attended Phuket’s Plookpanya School before moving on to Srinagarindra, where she is now a Mor 4 level student in the Intensive Math Program.

“This is the first time I’ve participated in such a large-scale contest. Please vote for me and Van and cheer both of us in the final round,” she said.

Half Thai, half German Miss Herrmann studied at Darasamuth Phuket and Satree Phuket schools and is now a second-year bachelor’s degree student in Ramkhamhaeng University’s Mass Communication program.

Miss Herrmann, who can speak Thai, English and German, has been a model since she was 15 years old. She made it to the final-50 round of the Miss Teen Thailand 2008 competition and the final 40-round of the Thai Supermodel Contest 2008, and won first prize in the Asni Guest Model Contest 2011.

“I would like Phuket people to help vote for me and Yim. We have ‘Gam the Star’ as a singer, Ameria ‘Amy’ Jacobs as an actress, so I want to be ‘Van’ Vanessa as a model. I’ll do my best to help promote Phuket,” she said.

To cast your vote in the Photogenic Model Competition, send an SMS to 4777222. To vote for Miss Watrsang, enter “T11” as text; to vote for Miss Herrmann, enter “T17”.

Votes can be cast until December 1.

The final round, originally scheduled to take place on November 2, was postponed due to the flooding in Bangkok. The new date will be announced by Channel 7.
