I want to work as a freelance musician, playing at various bars and clubs in Koh Samui and surrounding islands. The cost of doing this seems to be exorbitant given the tiny amount of money to be earned. What is the cheapest way to do this legally?

The only way to perform legally is to have the club hire you and provide you with a work permit. They must have 2 million baht in capital and 4 Thai employees in order to obtain a work permit.
