I am in Viphavadi Rangsit Soi 64 (nearby).... water is still between shin and knee deep in here and out in Viphavadi main road. I will venture over there later today to get some supplies (I called foodland... they are open with dry goods only!) I'll let you know how it looks, but for me in soi 64, I am waiting a few more days before taking the car out, for sure.

friend of my Thai friend on his bike into Noble Geo ( east of 5-yaek ) last Thursday. he took a video there and water was about 50cm to 60cm inside the moo baan. I spotted baan 377 ( soi ? ) water was at the highest door step. yet, Watcharapol 5-yaek was at 40cm+, and some soi in Ruam Mit Phattanna opposite to the market were just 20cm. sorry he doesn't want to share his video on the web.

from another Thai source, Watcharapol 5-yaek was about 30cm+ Monday morning. pickup and truck can drive through Watcharapol 5-yaek, small car can drive up to the area further from the TV Direct.

I consider to go there by my own this weekend. if condition alright, possibly we could drive home next weekend.

You can take the expressway to Rama 2 Road.

Rama 2 is fine all the way through until it ends at Phet Kasem /Hwy 4. Then go south!

I did that on Sunday, did BKK - Saraburi up but decided for another way down

Bangkok outbound Friday evening

Heavy traffic starting 5 km from the end of the expressway, some flooding after the expressway finished, and number 1 to Saraburi is still pretty heavily flooded in some areas, 20 cm outbound, 50 cm inbound, flooding is after Sai Asias (Rd 32) left turn, km 60+. Bangkok - Saraburi took 5.5 hours arriving Saraburi 1:30 AM on early Sat morning. Bangkok - Saraburi (Rd 1) beyond km 70 and road 21 toward Petchabun from Saraburi totally unaffected by floods

Can you identify the expressway you are referring to that I made bold for you as there are more ways that lead to RomeSaraburi...

Traffic apart from trucks is impossible... also according Dr. Seree

No personal experience but all traffic is diverted through Rom Klao and Chalong Krung

and these roads are busier than normal...

We want to go to Kanchanaburi later today..apparently the only way is out to Samut Sakhon, then take the 3094 to Nakhon Pathon and onwards. However are a little worried about getting back in a day or two as reports say Samut Sakhon is next for the water.........any views/advice please

I think you mean the 3097. Don't take this road there are major roadworks (unrelated to the flooding) and it's single carriageway in lots of places.

Go to Samut Songkram and take the 326 via Damnoen Saduek. It comes out on Petchkasem close to the road to Kanchanaburi.

Absolutely spot on. Out of Bangkok on Rama II Road (head for Dao Khanong at the highway junction) and then Route 35 all the way through to Samut Sakhon. Keep on through heading towards Samut Songkhram and just before take right turn on the 325 road towards Amphawa. This road will then take you all the way up to Route 4 and then follow signs to Kanchanaburi.

AVOID NAKHON PATHOM..!!

From Thai PBS 'Thailand's Worst Flood' English-language segment 14 Nov 2011, Dr Seree Supharatid and hosts Dr. Rungthip Chotnapalai, Mr. Suphajon Klinsuwan and Ms. Darin Klong-Ugkara got another 5 minutes of programming time covering the Bang Chan and Lat Krabang Industrial Estates situation.

Max, it looks like they can't pump water near the Bang Chan industrial estate fast enough to areas south of it. Where the water level last night was 17cm, it is now 55 cm in the same location and rising. This is a fast increase and indicates it is being pumped directly at us. Watch out Samut Prakan, because it will go through us, underneath Bangna, and will be coming to a theater near you, soon.

Good info, thank you (even if the road numbers get changed a little ). Particularly helpful about the roadworks on 3097. I keep changing my GPS mapping for my route from Chonburi to Kan and it's getting longer each time. 43km diversion now.

Yes it is the 325, not the 326 (I need stronger glasses). And, as said, follow the signs for Amphawa at Samut Songkhram which take you on a by-pass round the town centre.

Drove around as well as on Lad Krabang estate this morning.

Still water on stretches of Chalongkrung Road, puddles everywhere sometimes knee deep.

Chao Khun Tahaan, connecting Rom Klao and Chalongkrung, has water on both sides of the road now, so incoming as well.

Last week the back entrance from Chalongkrung Road (around the temple not the main gate!) was partially flooded, today that water was gone apart from a very low stretch of road.

The khlong around that part of the estate was dry last week and now almost full same for all the ditches on the estate itself..... clearly for me as a layman a vague sign.

However Dr. Seree, yesterday on TPBS, as well as the estate authorities informed us however the immediate threat has gone..funny enough Dr. S. admitted he had not been at the estate itself so it could have been a very wild guess??

As late as Thursday he was sure the estate would be flooded within two days...

I noticed they called in Dutch specialists, little late in my opinion...even a Laotian adviser would tell them to start pumping on all area's now before the water becomes a threat on itself...

I can't imagine they were talking already on how the prevent this from happening again, that would be very un-Thai.

Our company staff, technicians as well as workers, have helped revise the estate pumps and clear the pumps from garbage that was blocking the water inflow.

Note; On the several urgent advises from the estate authroities to evacuate since mid October because flooding, varying from 50 cm to 3.00 m was imminent, 200 out of 225 companies with 45.000 workers closed

The estate has not seen any water so far.

Insurance companies won't pay.....gonna be a hard piece to swallow...

Would anyone know the likelihood of Thanon Lat Krabang near Paseo Mall (and in particular, Perfect Village) flooding if Lat Krabang Estate were to flood?

Not sure if it is the same at your village, but at Narasiri the village is now about 1/2 dry. They were really able to pump it out a lot in the last few days. W. Road is still too high for normal cars though. Hopefully that will be down by next weekend or next week. You're pretty close to me, so I suppose it will be quite the same.

Where was that increase measured? Maybe they should put those early Dutch days in Ayutthaya pumps online that jumbo had mentioned. No, that was Lat Krabang. Have they completed the upgrade of those Ayutthaya pumps from wind to diesel yet, jumbo?

Anyway, Dr. Seree has given a 7-day disclaimer last night for both estates. Is this a good time to call in a psychic ... or the Water Deities?

As of yesterday evening Lat Pla Khao on both the north and south sides of Kaset Nawamin was still flooded. It looked to be about the same level as it did a few days ago or possibly just a bit lower. I did not go deep into either soi. I asked a motorbike taxi driver on the north side if Lat Pla Khao was flooded all of the way to Ram Intra and he said no. I might go in that direction later this evening and will have a look, but judging from elsewhere in this general area I doubt if the water levels have dropped very much.

Suan Pak Soi 32 off Ratchapreuk Road. No change since yesterday except for the tidal variation of about 10 cms. So still 1.5 metres at road level. Now Yingluck tells us western BKK will see water until next year. Wonderful Xmas present!

Did I say 55 cm in my last message? Now, as measured by the BMA, it is 68 cm! That is a 51 cm increase in one day for water that Dr. Seree said travels at 3 km each day. Clearly, the BMA is pumping it right at us (just east of the King's Park - Suan Luang Rama IX). You can see it yourself via the BMA's map on Bangkokgis.com. I think, with all the talk about how everything has improved, they are feeling pressure to actually make things improve. They tried to pump the water further east of us (we were one of those districts expected to escape the flooding), but that failed. Now, it is a matter of just pumping it as hard and as fast through the existing klongs through Prawet to Samut Prakan and into the ocean. Also, from Onnuj, down to Sukhumvit (a lot of reports of them working on Sukhumvit's drainage) to the Rama IV superdrain.

A positive for Richard Barrow (whose tweets I read religiously), he won't have to go far in a few days to find the flooding.

If this is what it takes to move it out of Bangkok to the ocean, then I am all for it, even though it means it will come right through us.
