My friends would like to know how to o about getting married in Thailand and what documents are necessary. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all, dap

Normally both would require certified "affrimations to marry" from their Embassies, these then would have to be translated and then certified at the MFA (Chaengwattana Road), after all of this they can get married in Thailand.

Where are they from Dap? I know the Swiss have different requirements than other countries.

Hi SBK,

The lady is from New Mexico and the male is from Hawaii. Both US citizens.

I thank you all kindly for your response and will forward this information on to the couple.

Sorry, Another question concerning this procedure. Would the couple (after attaining their certified Affirmations to marry and completing the translations and MFA certifications) be able to get married in any Amphur or would they need to perform this function only in Bangkok?

Any amphur of their choice, but best to pick one that has done foreign marriages before, if they do it in the back of beyond, the amphur people may not have dealt with it before.
