My understanding is that a homemade bomb went off around midnight near the entrance to a guesthouse owned by a British man, nobody was injured and police don't know if the guesthouse was targeted or if it was due to something else, perhaps the recent crackdown in the area on noisy late night places. Its in the little lanes near Wat Chai Sripoom in Chang Moi, an area with quite a few backpacker guesthouses.

You don't have to signal a social conscience by looking like a frump. Lace knickers won't hasten the holocaust, you can ban the bomb in a feather boa just as well as without, and a mild interest in the length of hemlines doesn't necessarily disqualify you from reading Das Kapital and agreeing with every word. ~Elizabeth Bibesco
