Astma Medicine Accolate - Over The Counter And Price?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I'm going to Thailand soon and want to know if I can get my astma medicine over there? I use Accolate. Do the have Accolate or another drug with the ingredient zafirkulast. Do I need some kind of a prescription or can I just buy it over the counter in a pharmacy? And what are the prices approx?

This drug is not registered/licensed in Thailand. So you will not be able to get it here. Bring an adequate supply with you.

For people moving here for the long term, you can look into replacement therapies such as Ventolin inhaler plus a steroid inhaler.

I was given Accolate 12 - 18 months ago by Dr Sharin at Savitri-Sharin Clinic in Chiang Mai.

I have high regard for Sheryl's advice so maybe it can not be given anymore?

Oh no :( It's not possible to get an adequete supply with me. Do you know if it's possible to get a drug with the ingredient montelukast? It's usually called singulair or montelo-10.

Good to hear your experience. Maybe there's a possibility I can get it then. Right now I'm still in my home country, Denmark. I've tried to google Dr. Sharin at the Savitri-Sharin Clinic in Chiang Mai, to see if he got an mail adr. so I could write to him and ask if it's possible to get from him, but I couldn't find an mailadr. Do you know if he got one public mailadr?

It appears so:

This site has a weird security system. These links won't work but I did find these meds listed as being in Thailand. To replicate the links google Thailand and the name of the drug you are looking for. Then you can view the info in the links.

Dr. Sharin must have brought in a supply from abroad, is all I can say. It's never been registered here AFAIK.

Yes, you can get montelukast over the counter under brand names Montek10 and Singulair.

I wouldn't count on finding it easily upcountry though. Large pharmacies in Bangkok or Chiang Mai would be the best source.
