More allegations of unlawful activity involving Pattaya City Security Officers

PATTAYA: -- A Thai man, who works for a bar on Walking Street claims to have been attacked, twice, by a group of Pattaya City Security Officers and also claims inaction by Police after both incidents were reported to them. Over the weekend, Khun Sujin aged 28 reported the case again at Pattaya Police Station and was told to provide evidence of the attacks and at this point Police would take the case further. The first incident took place on the night of 15th November. Khun Sujin was involved in a fight with a foreign patron of the bar he is employed by. Security officers arrived and allegedly attached Khun Sujin before he was able to tell them what had happened. He was reportedly taken into a side-alley and beaten. This first incident was reported to Police who told the man that he would have to go to Pattaya City Hall and obtain the names of the officers involved in the attack. He went there and was allegedly confronted by 10 of the officers who threatened him not to pursue the case. He was then attacked again at the rear of City Hall where the officers are based, according to his statement to Police. Khun Sujin wants Police to investigate the case but they still appear unwilling to assist him.
