tommytouch
Can someone please tell me where in Bangkok a Thai national (born in Bangkok) needs to go to make a new ID card. Also, does anyone know whether the area is currently accesible due to the floods? Thanks for any help.
JohnC
They go to their local amphur with their blue house book, if they have moved they should get their name on the blue house book (tor bor 14) and then go to the local amphur where a new id card can be issued. Have no ideas re flooding as I am not in Bangkok.
sulasno
visit the BMA centers at BTS Siam or Morchit to renew the IDs; they opened from 10 to 6; IDs are valid for 9 years

joy16
You can go to any amphur/district offices, not limit to the registered area. And ID card is valid for 6 years, the expiry date will be 1 day before your birthday in that year.
Semper
I've never met a Thai who don't know where to get a new ID card, assuming OP is not talking about a child.
Madivad
visit the BMA centers at BTS Siam or Morchit to renew the IDs; they opened from 10 to 6; IDs are valid for 9 years Just confirming my wife got a new ID card from here only a few months ago. We were doing other stuff for our visa and saw the office at BTS Siam (The north western most exit—from memory). processed in minutes. She isn't Bangkok native.
