SHIJIAZHUANG, CHINA (BNO NEWS) -- At least four people were killed on Thursday afternoon when a factory building under construction collapsed in northern China, local authorities said.

The accident happened at around 3 p.m. local time at a wine plant in Funing County in Hebei province, about 635 kilometers (394 miles) northeast of the provincial capital of Shijiazhuang. At least eight people were buried under the debris.

According to the state-run Xinhua news agency, the eight people were pulled out of the debris about two hours later. Of them, four were later pronounced dead while four others were rushed to area hospitals.
