I tried to translate a post to a random Thai forum just for practice. (I'm trying to increase my exposure to natural speech patterns, rather than Pimsleur-speak). I had to guess a lot. If anyone would care to correct me, or at least let me know whether I got the gist right, that'd be great. I'll post the Thai first, followed by my translation. I had an especially hard time figuring out who was the subject at times.

คือมีแม่และเด็กคนนึงเข้ามาเล่นเกมในร้านในซอยมหาดไทยติดต่อกันประมาณ 5 วันได้แล้วครับ คือเล่นแบบเหมาวันครับ ซึ่งผมเป็นพนักงานร้านไม่กล้าไปออกความคิดเห็นอะไร ที่เป็นห่วงก็คือ

1.เด็กคนนี้ไม่ได้ไปเรียนหนังสือครับ เป็นเด็กชาย หน้าตาน่ารัก อายุประมาณ 7-8 ขวบแล้ว

2.แม่ของเด็กคนนี้ติดเกมครับ เล่นเกมพร้อมกับเติมเงินเข้าเกมด้วย

3.ไม่ได้อาบน้ำอยู่กับชุดสีเขียวมาหลายวันแล้ว แม่เขาด้วยเช่นกัน

ผมถามเด็กเรื่องพ่อและบ้าน เด็กก็ตอบว่าพาแม่มาเรียน พ่ออยู่ที่ใต้หวัน รอพ่อกลับมา เด็กใช้ชีวิตทั้งวันอยู่กับร้านคอมครับ แม่เขาด้วยเช่นกัน

คือในฐานะเป็นเพื่อนมนุษย์ด้วยกันย่อมมีความเป็นห่วงครับ อันนี้ผมเป็นห่วงอนาคตเด็กมากกว่าเพราะไม่มีโอกาสได้เรียน จะมีวิธีไหมที่จะแนะนำเขาให้มีชีวิตที่ดีกว่านี้ คือเลือกหนทางใดสักอย่างที่ให้เขาคิดถึงอนาคตของลูกเป็นหลัก ผมไม่กล้าไปบอกเขาตรงๆตอนนี้ก็ได้แต่สงสารครับ หากใครมีวิธีก็ช่วยแนะนำด้วยครับ

There was this mother and child playing a game in a store on soi mahatthai for about 5 days straight. It's played [แบบเหมาวัน] (???). As a store employee I don't want to presume but some things worry me:

1. The child isn't in school. It's a cute little boy, about 7 or 8 years old.

2. His mother is obsessed with this game and keeps adding more money to keep playing.

3. He hasn't bathed in a number of days and is still wearing the same green outfit. Same with his mom.

I asked the boy about his dad and his house. He said that his mom takes him to study. His dad is in Taiwan and they're waiting for him to come back. The child stays in the store all day. Same with his mother. As concerned citizen, I am worried. The thing I'm most worried about is the boy's future since he's not in school. Is there a way I can suggest that there is a better way, namely, choosing a path that takes his future into account? I don't dare just tell them since I feel sorry for him. Can anyone suggest a way to help?

There is a mistake in คนนึง kon nueng : hoo heeb and mai ek are missing. Reading the beginning reminds me of Aesop's fables which I'm reading in English and Thai (in one book). This solves the problem of translation.
