Looking on my dictionary there are quite a few Thai words for almost and nearly.

I'm after a way to say nearly/almost finished.

gʉ̀ʉap เกือบ

kɛ̂ɛ แค่

รอมร่อ rɔɔm-rɔ̂ɔ

Plus there is a few others.

แทบเสร็จแล้ว

แทบเสร็จแล้ว just sounds weird and not quite right to me....

แทบจะเสร็จแล้ว also doesn't sound quite right.

When searching for "แทบเสร็จ" on google, the only results are for the meaning of "nearly cum" because เสร็จ is also a slang for orgasm.

So.... you can use แทบ, but it a different kind of "finished"...

In the context of the OP's Post I would use :

จวน

as in :

จวนเสร็จ
