hi, I am thinking of buying the above car as I love them!!..I have the chance to buy one but the guy tells me the overdrive is not working. WHilst I am sure that there could be lots of reasons for this, does anyone that knows more about cars than me, think that this could be fixed without spending too much money?

I'm not sure about the OD but if you test drive this car, make absolutely sure that the transmission shifts smoothly. If it jerks or takes more than 1.5 seconds to engage, avoid this car like the plague. Also check the transmission fluid. If it's dark and smells burnt, keep shopping.
