And where did you read this so-called "information"? Or are you just putting your desired spin on the fact that, reportedly, Xi and Trump will meet in May, as Trump has requested. China wanted to do it the normal way - through diplomatic channels to work out a deal, and then finally with XI. But Trump wanted to bypass all that and meet directly with Xi, which sounds like exactly what is now being reported. -

As of April 21, 2025, the Swedish furniture giant announced that cash payments will no longer be accepted at three prominent branches: IKEA Bangna, IKEA Bang Yai, and IKEA Chiang Mai. Revealed through its official IKEA Thailand Facebook page, the decision showcases IKEA's commitment to aligning with modern consumer preferences. Shoppers at these locations are now encouraged to use one of the four accepted cashless payment options: QR codes, credit and debit cards, IKEA gift cards, or IKEA Family points. However, this move has sparked a mixed response on social media. While many acknowledge the convenience and popularity of cashless transactions, some users voiced concerns. Critics argue that keeping cash as a payment option is essential for individuals uncomfortable with digital payments or those without access to banking facilities. Additionally, there are worries about potential disruptions if digital payment systems encounter technical issues. Despite the mixed reactions, IKEA's decision affects only part of its Thai network, as the company operates five branches in total, including IKEA Phuket and IKEA Sukhumvit, where cash payments are still accepted. Food Panda is almost no more...........On May 23rd Panda is Finished in Thailand...
Too bad for Pattaya. I never liked Food Panda in Bangkok. GRAB has always been the best, at least the most convenient, but I agree not all menus are in English - seems to be the fast food places mostly that are in Thai - don't know why. There are some other food delivery ops here but I never use them - just seen them - like Robin Hood. LINE Man seems too much hassle to bother with and, as someone said, it seems to be the bottom feader or smallish places that rely on them. I just don't bother at all with LINE Man. It's not good news though that GRAB is going to have a near monopoly and it could mean longer wait times for deliveries, and even for a driver to accept the order. Some years ago, when GRAB was just getting started, I remember how odd it seemed that people would order McDonalds or Pizza Hut through GRAB when the restaurants would actually deliver for free with their own drivers.
