Quick question regarding naturalisation in the UK

Does the British partner of a non-British partner have to be living in the UK with his/her partner when he/she applies for naturalisation?

Applying for ILR next year, and after getting ILR I am considering working abroad for a year or two (due to the economic climate in the UK).

So will their be a problem applying for naturalisation one year on if my non-British partner is in the UK, and I am working abroad. I cannot see anything on the UKBA website that prohibits this, but there is a section on the naturalisation form which asks for the spouse's address.

I know that for ILR we need to be living together, but for naturalisation this doesn't seem to be the case. Am I right?

Cheers in advance for any comments.

I am 99% certain that you are correct. It is the person applying for naturalisation who has to satisfy the residency requirements; not their British spouse.
