First Time Buying A Car, Any Advice?

This is my first time buying a car, after reading much of the forum posts, I've zeroed down my selections to 2 brands, Toyota or Honda.

The following models are to my liking; the Honda Jazz, Honda Civic, Toyota Vios

I'm using the car mainly for transport, of course design plays a crucial part as well. Can anyone advice in terms of price, fuel efficiency and other factors. Any information on areas to look out for when buying is greatly appreciated. I stay near Khon Kaen in the northern part of Thailand. Thank you!
