Pattaya Predictions For 2012

I came to Pattaya 2 nights ago, surprised and disappointed to see there is another market on Beach Road until the New Year, which prevents my nightly walking along there.

I also read this item on In Pattaya News site:

As we head towards New Year, we thought we’d compile a list of sure-fire predictions for Pattaya in 2012...

http://inpattayanow....tions-for-2012/

I wonder what Thai Visa posters would predict, humorously or not humorously, for Pattaya in 2012.

Mine would be:

1. City Hall to clean the beaches better and more often.

2. Stop holding markets on Beach Road, although I know a lot of tourists seem to enjoy looking at the stalls.

I predict that most of the problems reported in the press in 2011 will recur, despite promises (and funds set aside) to "fix" such problems after the last occurrence.

I predict new excuses for old problems in cases where the old excuses cannot be used anymore. Look out for new excuses as to why flooding still happens in the same old areas, why the beach is strewn with rubbish, why parts of Thappraya Rd still looks like a work-in-progress, why pedestrian lights no longer work on Beach Rd, why there is no water from your taps eventhough the reservoirs are replenished.

I predict the trend will continue of Soi Buakow/Soi Lenkee becoming the new Walking Street for Euros, Brits, 'Mercuns, and Ozzies while the old WS is increasingly for Arabs, Iranians, Indians, Russians, Chinese, and Koreans.

I concur, however, if a certain establishment with a double barrel name is to go by then things really are on a slippery slope :(
