Border Crossing Closest To Koh Chang

Featured Replies

I was planning to go to Koh Chang, but realised I have to make a visa run during this period. It's very close to Cambodia, but I cant find a border crossing in this region.

Is there one at all closer than PoiPet?

South on the 318 not sure of town as both my map's give a different name one say's Ban Hat the other Sara Phat Phit but it's the Trat immigration checkpoint I did the run some year's ago, you might get another post with better/correct name. Hope this help's.

The border crossing over there is around 90 KMs away from Trat, and is called Baan Had Lek, it's a little bit further down from Klong Yai.

This is the border which crosses in to Koh Kong on the Cambodian Side of the Border.

Edit: //

There are minibuses that leave the bus station in Trat every 30 minutes or so (during the daytime) for the border (cost around 120 +/- THB One Way and takes around 1.15 Hr)

The border which "retiredusn" refers to, is used by the Visa Run Companies from Pattaya, but a lot further away from Koh Chang and Trat

Had Lek is the closest from Koh Chang. Just be prepared for nice delay's on the ferry crossing at the moment
