I am looking at going to Thailand around March and would like to stay there until next Xmas time (approx 9 months.)

I currently reside in Australia and have both an Australian and US passport. My question is what are my options?

I have a generous amount of money in a bank account (only saying this because some visas talk about monetary requirements) and am more than willing to do language classes as well if that helps.

Your best option is to quickly delete the line that says you have a generous amount of money in the bank. Enough will find that out by themselves. Next it depends a lot on how old you are.

Without any more information your option would seem to be as many Tourist Visa entries as you can get.

A Double Entry would get you up to 6 months with extensions. A triple 9 months.
