Hello our first trip to Thailand , were heading to the Islands for 3 weeks but we land late at night were can we stay (resort) were we can be picked up and spend 2 days on a beach before heading to the the ferry. any ideas good people , Stephen n Rish

Your question is a bit vague. And if you know Phuket is a large island basically surrounded by lots of beaches, it's a tough one to answer.

What is your price range? Do you just want to lay on the beach, or be near the nightlife? Or both?

There are resorts nearby the airport, I believe the Marriott is one. But it's expensive...and beautiful. I suggest using something like agoda.com or tripadvisor.com and do some research. There are sooooooooo many options!

What islands are you going to?

If you land late at night and want to laze on the beach for a couple of days then the closest beach to the airport is Nai Yang beach, just 5 minutes away. Many of the hotels in that area will collect you for free from the airport. They can also arrange the transfer to the ferry port I suggest you check for Nai Yang hotels on web-sites such as Booking.com
